I was thinking lately about the ways in which I measure my life. I believe the old saying recommends the moments that take your breath away (as opposed to the breaths you take), but how does that translate in practice?

Here’s my take:

1. How often I get to turn on my “out of office” assistant/vacation responder.

2. Watching the ratio of my assets to debts increase.

3. How many yoga classes I took this week.

4. Not getting angry when I might have in the past.

5. Sending that 5.x, when I struggled on it the week before.

I’m sure there are more and I will update the list as necessary. How about you?

How many times I’m able to go to the gym…how much I’m able to relax…how much time I’m able to take off of work!

For me, it’s how many times my son yells “big hug” and tackles me – but I also loved the “out of office” comment.
